About the Test

The Colbert Report Political Rorschach Test is a Poli-Tea Politics Project investigating the truthiness of binary political ideology under the conditions of the reigning two-party state. The test's video stimulus and various prompts are adopted from a study entitled "The Irony of Satire," published in The International Journal of Press Politics in early 2009.

Though the test may or may not confirm the results of the study, namely, that political ideology colors our very perceptions of reality, political and otherwise, this has no bearing on the merits of the study, which is squarely based within the realm of scientific investigation and fact. Conversely, and for this very reason, the study has no bearing on the merits of the test, which is based squarely within the realm of truthiness made possible by non-scientific web polling.

The duration of a given Test, i.e. the length of time polls will remain open and then reset, is dependent upon the rate of participation by the voting public. Ongoing findings and analysis will be made public at that time. The current test is set to expire on Independence Day, July 4th. Please see Poli-Tea for further explanation.
